A Clear Autumn Day

A Clear Autumn Day

Clouds cleared up on this late-October day, letting us see autumn leaf colors in the Appalachian mountain range and the North-Eastern part of the United States. When days get shorter in Autumn, the green chlorophyll disappears from the leaves and lets other pigments, like red and yellow carotenoids, show their colors.

Stay tuned for new terrestrial products, soon to be released from the PACE mission, that will include multiple plant pigment-related indices. Read more about these products, labeled 'LAND' as their L2 Suite, in the PACE products table.
