Brown Ice in Foxe Basin

The above Landsat 8 image shows brown ice in Canada's Foxe Basin. Seafloor sediments from the shallow basin routinely get incorporated into the seaice when it forms there. The phenomenon has been noted since before ocean color satellites (page 4-37) could capture views such as the one above that was collected on July 8, 2020.
