On January 7, 2020, Landsat 8 flew over the northern portion of the Persian Gulf revealing patterns of phytoplankton, suspended sediment, bottom reflections, and human activity in this northwestern arm of the Indian Ocean. Click on the above image to get a much larger (49 megabyte) version. A few hours after the Landsat 8 pass, the Aqua/MODIS instrument captured a view of the entire Persian Gulf and surrounding countries. |
