Labrador Sea

Phytoplankton abundance peaks in the summer in the central Labrador Sea — depicted above in a VIIRS image collected on August 9, 2015. In addition to routine satellite and ship monitoring, a new mooring is expected to begin monitoring this dynamic region inthe near future.
