The figure below shows the frequency of the bands ratios used in the OC4O algorithm over the course of the OCTS mission. The results indicate that a possible degredation of the visible bands has occured.
At chlorophyll concentrations of 0.2 and 0.3 mg m-3, the freqency of the 443/565 ratio decreased, however 490/565 and 520/565 ratios changed only slight ly for chlorophyll concentrations of 1.3 and 1.4 mg m-3. This may suggest that the 443nm band has degraded faster than the longer wavelength bands.
