OLCI Ocean Color Reprocessing 2022.0

Instrument Calibration

The OLCI Sentinel-3A data are based on ESA's processing baseline collection 002 and OLCI Sentinel-3B on ESA's processing baseline collection 001.

Vicarious Calibration

The vicarious calibration for both the S3A and S3B OLCI sensors used the ocean reflectance model-based approach.

Product Formats

This is the first NASA processing of the OLCI sensors. The file formats and product suites will match those emplyed in the R2014.0 multi-mission reprocessing.

Results

The comparison of the S3A-OLCI time series for global deep water (>1000m) generated for the R2022 configuration to the corresponding Aqua-MODIS time series is shown below (left panels). The ratio of S3A-OLCI to Aqua-MODIS is also shown (right panels).
