Southern Yellow Sea

In addition to the background colors imparted by phytoplankton and suspended sediment, the above Landsat 8 view of the southern edge of the Yellow Sea features many wakes of ships that are either underway or anchored in the the tidal current. It also features thousands of dark green algal patches that are lined up by wind and current and floating at the water's surface.
