Twenty-Year-Old Sensor Views Benguela Upwelling

Although the MODIS instrument on the Terra spacecraft has proven suboptimal for use in quantitative ocean-color work, it still is capturing useful qualitative ocean color features more than twenty years after it collected its first-light image. The above view of dust storms crossing the Benguela upwelling system was collected on June 16, 2020. Click on it to get a larger version.
