Volga River Delta

Ocean color observers are used to seeing turbulent patterns in the waters they view. Sometimes, however, laminar flow patterns take over as can be seen at the bottom of the above image where parallel stream lines of Volga River water emerge from the delta in the northern Caspian Sea.

The above Landsat 8 image was collected on April 24, 2020. Click on it for a larger, broader view of the delta.
