Clear skies on April 8, 2020 allowed this wide-angle VIIRS (NOAA 20 and Suomi-NPP) view of Europe and its surrounding seas where the phytoplankton color the water in various shades of green. Note how aerosols, such as those streaming across the Adriatic Sea from wildfires in Bosnia Herzegovina, make the detection of relatively dark water features difficult.
