On January 7, 2020, Landsat 8 flew over the northern portion of the Arabian/Persian Gulf revealing patterns of phytoplankton, suspended sediment, bottom reflections, and human activity in this northwestern arm of the Indian Ocean. Click on the above image to get a much larger (49 megabyte) version. A few hours after the Landsat 8 pass, the Aqua/MODIS instrument captured a view of the entire Persian Gulf and surrounding countries. |
