The Persian Gulf

This Aqua/MODIS image of the Persian Gulf shows phytoplankton and suspended sediment patterns in the water while aerosols of various types drift in the air above. It was collected on January 7, 2020. Click on it to get a larger version.

A few hours before the Aqua overflight, Landsat 8 captured a higher-resolution view of the northwestern part of the gulf.
