This SNPP-VIIRS composite image collected over two orbits on July 22, 2017 illustrates some of the challenges faced by the ocean-color remote-sensing scientist, namely, clouds, aerosols, striping artifacts from imperfect sensor calibration, and even a bit of sun glint this far north.
