Topic SeaDAS / SeaDAS 6.x - General Questions / Error message regarding Met Ozone ancillary data (locked)
Hi all,
I'm processing L1A MODIS A files using seadas 6.4 on ubuntu 64 bit. I've only recently started looking at processing satellite data and I'm using the gui in seadas.
When processing from L1B to L2 I get an error message in the terminal window;
WARNING: The following ancillary data types were missing or are not optimal: MET OZONE
*** Beware that certain MET and OZONE files just chosen by this program are not optimal.
*** For near real-time processing the remaining files may become available soon.
I am processing nrt data and have (as far as I know) updated the ancillary data.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
regards
Kieran

Kieran,
This may be a looong time coming...sorry for such a delayed response.
The answer is simple.
The warning is telling you that the MET/OZONE files are not optimal. Since you were processing
NRT data, this can occur (you process before we get the optimal ancillary data) - thus the warning.
If you reprocess the data later, use the --refreshDB flag in the getanc.py call to update the database
and obtain the complete MET/OZONE file set.
Operationally, we process the data as soon as we get it (usually before the optimal ancillary are obtained)
then reprocess again once the optimal ancillary data are in house.
Regards,
Sean
