Project Title: Interactive Effect of UV and Mixing In The Ross Sea

Description of the Research Project and Justification for Real-time SeaWiFS Data:

We are measuring the response of phytoplankton and other microorganisms in the 
Ross Sea Polynya to solar UV exposure.  Sampling will be targeted to blooms of
Phaeocystis and diatoms.  Real-time access to SeaWiFS will enable rapid identification
of bloom areas and assist in accomplishing our cruise objectives.
