Project Title: SeaWiFS GAC data analysis for APEX aerosol experiment

Principal Investigator(s): Hajime Fukushima

Funding Agency(s): Ministry of Education, Science and Culture

Description of the Research Project and Justification for Real-time SeaWiFS Data:

As a part of Asian Particle Environmental Change Experiment (APEX) Intensive Observation
Experiment, which is to be conducted in March through May over Japan area, we request
quasi-real time support for SeaWiFS GAC Level-1A data. This data will be used to support
the participating scientists of the experiment, including airplane observation.

Our plan for the data processing is as follows.

- Satellite and ancillary data:
Period of data service: March 1 - May 31, 2004.
Requested data: SeaWiFS GAC Level-1A which covers 70E-180E, 10N-50N.
   Planned data transfer: ftp
Ancillary data: Quasi-real time data is preferable. If not available, the climatological
		   data will be used.

- Data processing:
Output parameters/imagery: Browse image (color composite), dust veil indeces for land
and ocean, aerosol optical thickness, and angstrom exponent.
   Processing: Remapped dayly composite.
Providing imagery: via APEX home page
