Raw vs. Geophysical Data

The original data as read directly from the input file (called raw band data) as well as the geo-physical representation are always available in memory and are referenced by the general display program functions. Raw data is converted to geo-physical data by using the Slope, Intercept and Scale Type information stored in the file.  Data formats which do not contain slope, intercept and scale type information will be assigned the identity values of slope of 1.0, intercept of 0.0 and scale type linear. The Geo/Raw toggle buttons which appear in many functions, allows the user to specify whether to perform functions in terms of the raw data values or the corresponding geo-physical data values.
