Paint - Density Slice Widget

Description:  The Paint - Density Slice Widget allows the user to do color density slicing of data values in the selected display.  It allows the user to enter the desired minimum and maximum values in raw or geophysical units and to select the color for each slice.  All the image pixels with data values in the sliced ranges may be displayed as the colors assigned to those ranges.  This widget can be initiated by selecting Functions->Paint Color (Density Slice) in the Seadisp Main Menu Widget.

Note:  To perform this function, Seadisp has to be configured with at least 2 color tables.  The last color table will be used to display the colors for density slice ranges.  You may see color conflicts, if you activate this function with other display functions at the same time.

Input/output items:
Display window to be applied The display window number that has the image to be applied by the color density slicing function.
Data type The data type in raw or geophysical units that the values entered in fields Data range, Range Start, and Range Size will apply to.  When the data type is changed by pressing the toggle button, all the density slice ranges listed in the List of Density Slice Range field will also be updated based on the new data type.
Add single range
Data range The minimum and maximum ranges with the color index given in the Color index field to be added into the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Color index  The color to be used to display the pixels that have data values within the corresponding density slice range.
Add Multiple ranges
No. of ranges  The number of density slice ranges to be added into the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Range Start The starting range to be used for adding multiple ranges into the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Range Size The incremental size to be used for adding multiple ranges into the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Color to mark density slice(s) as blotch The color to be applied for assigning density slice ranges to a blotch when the Mark selected range as a blotch or Mark all ranges as a blotch option is selected from the Function Menu.

Action items:
Add (Single range) To combine the values in the Data range and Color Index fields as an entry and append it at the end of the List of Density Slice Ranges field.  The color index will automatically increase by 1 after the button is pressed for next range to be added.
Add (Multiple ranges) To append multiple density slice ranges that are decided by the values given in fields No. of ranges, Range Start, Range Size, and Color index at the end of the List of Density Slice Ranges field.  The color index will automatically increase by the number of the total ranges added after the button is pressed for the next range to be added.
Display & Modify Colors  To open the Flag Color Set Up Widget to display and update the colors available for density slice display.
Apply To apply the colors to image pixels in the selected display window based on the order of the density slice ranges listed in the List of Density Slice Ranges field.  Note that the program will not check for duplicated or overlapped ranges and the minimum and maximum ranges for each density slice are inclusive when comparing with the image data.
Function Menu A pull down menu button for the following options:

Paint selected range To display all pixels that have values inside (inclusive) the density slice range that is highlighted in the List of Density Slice Ranges field with the color assigned to that range.
Clear selected range To clear the color on pixels that have been painted based on the information of the highlighted entry in the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Paint all ranges  Same as the Apply button.
Clear all ranges To clear all colors that have been painted on the selected display window.
Mark selected range as blotch To mask all pixels that have values inside (inclusive) the density slice range that is highlighted in the List of Density Slice Ranges field as overlay graphics on the selected display window with the color given in the Color to mark density slice(s) as a blotch field. Once the blotch(es) are generated, they will stay with the display window and the paint function will not work on top of the blotches.
Mark all ranges as blotch To mask all pixels that satisfy any of the ranges listed in the List of Density Slice Ranges field as overlay graphics on the selected display window with the color given in the Color to mark density slice(s) as blotch field.  Once the blotch(es) are generated, they will stay with the display window and the paint function will not work on top of the blotches.
Quick selected range on/off loop To display the image with the painted color over pixels defined by the highlighted density slice range in the List of Density Slice Ranges field on/off for 10 times.
Quick all ranges on/off loop To display the image with the painted colors over pixels defined by all the density slice ranges in the List of Density Slice Ranges field on/off for 10 times.
Save To save the data type, density slice ranges and their corresponding colors in red, green, and blue attributes into an ASCII file.  In the file, the first line is the title that contains the data type and followed by lines with minimum, maximum ranges and its corresponding red, green, and blue attributes for each entry in the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Restore To restore the data type, density slice ranges and their corresponding colors from an ASCII file.  The Data type, Color index, and List of Density Slice Ranges fields, as well as the colors in the Flag Color Set Up Widget, will be updated based on the information from the input file.
Remove To remove the highlighted density slice range entry from the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Clear All To remove all density slice ranges from the List of Density Slice Ranges field.
Quit Close the Paint - Density Slice Widget.
