Starting the general display program (seadisp)

Description:  This procedure initializes the general display program.  If the user is running interactively, the seadisp command will also bring up the Seadisp Main Menu.

Command mode:

Usage: seadisp, quit=quit

Arguments/Keywords:
quit Exit seadisp and free all memory.  This is equivalent to issuing the clear_up command.

Note:When running in command mode , it is required to issue the seadisp command before issuing any other display program function commands.

Action Items:

Quit Press button to quit seadisp and delete all active seadisp windows, widgets and delete all band data and image data from memory.
Help Bring up help about Seadisp Main Menu in netscape or mosaic HTML viewers.
Load Pull down menu to select the desired data format for input:
Load-> SeaWiFS Load SeaWiFS L1, L1A browse, L2, L2 browse, L3 binned, and SMI (mapped) file types.
Load->SeaWiFS L0 Load SeaWiFS Level-0 (HRPT) files.
Load-> MODIS Ocean Data Load MODIS Ocean L1A, L1B, L2, L2A, L2B, L2 SST, L3 & L4 files.
Load-> OCTS(NASDA format) Load NASDA OCTS L1B, L2 and L3 mapped files.
Load-> OCTS(SeaDAS format) Load SeaDAS OCTS L2 files.
Load-> CZCS/SeaDAS HDF Load SeaDAS CZCS L1A and L2 files.
Load-> CZCS/DAAC HDF & PST Load Goddard DAAC HDF CZCS files. Level-2 and Level-2 browse file types.
Load-> CZCS/SEAPAK Load a SEAPAK image.
Load-> MOS Load a MOS L1B file or a MOS L2 file (generated with l2gen)
Load-> AVHRR SST/JPL PO.DAAC Load either of two SST HDF formats:
  • Pathfinder Best SST HDF format (9km, 18km & 54km)
  • MCSST HDF Format (18km)
  • Load-> SeaDAS mapped Load SeaDAS projected files.
    Load-> HDF Load 2D SD's from any HDF file.
    Load-> Flat File Load 2D data from a binary flat file (byte, short-integer, long-integer, floating-point supported)
    Load-> PNG Load images from PNG files.
    Load-> True Color Load True Color images from previously loaded bands or from TIFF files.
    Load-> Band List This option simply redisplays the Band List Selection Widget with all available loaded products. It is only useful if the Band List Selection Widget is accidentally deleted.
    Functions Functions listed in the seadisp main menu are functions which are performed on multiple bands or multiple display windows.  Data must be first loaded and/or displayed in order to use these functions.
    Looping Looping or movie function.
    Projection Map Projection function.
    Spin L3 Binned File Globe spinning of SeaWiFS L3 binned file.
    Scatter Plot Scatter Plot function.
    Generate Bathymetry Image Generate either a user-defined bathymetry image or a bathymetry image to match an existing loaded band.
    Multiple Bands Data Display View raw and byte-scaled data values for several bands simultaneously at the same locations.
    Band Shift Shift a loaded band in the X and/or Y directions.
    Arithmetic Band Functions Simple difference, simple average, and general summation functions for bands.
    User Defined Operations  Allow user access to loaded band information for defining own operations and creating a new band.
    Output Data and navigation output in ASCII or binary, and graphics and display output.
    L2 Flags Display Provide capability of displaying data-embedded flags for SeaWiFS, OCTS and MODIS data.
    MODIS Quality Flags Display Displays MODIS quality flags.
    Copy Graphics Copy graphics colors from one display window to another.
    Modify Graphics Colors Modify any color within the graphics color palette.
    Paint Color (Density Slice) Color density slicing of image data.
    Color LUT
  • Load Color   - Load a color table from IDL reserved tables, loaded band, HDF file or ASCII text file into one of the existing concurrent color tables.
  • Change Color  - Modify any region or individual color cell within the full available color palette.
  • Save Color - Save the current color table to an HDF palette or ASCII text file.
  • Default LUT- Restore black and white linear color tables in all available concurrent color tables.
  • Global Setup Change Color Table Configuration- Modify the number of concurrent color tables.
