Output Data Function (out_data or out, /data)

Description:  The Output Data Function provides the capability of outputting the raw or geophysical band data values associated with an entire display window (or region).  The raw or geophysical data values can be output in any of the following three formats:

Output Format Notes:
  • Binary Flat File:  In the case of outputting a binary flat file, the output data type will be the data type of the raw band data or geophysical data and will be reflected in the default output file name.
  • HDF SD or SeaDAS Mapped:  In the case of outputting either the SeaDAS Mapped or HDF SD formats, if the raw data format is specified, the appropriate slope, intercept and scale type will be written into the meta data of the file, and will be reapplied when reloaded into SeaDAS with either the Load->SeaDAS Mapped or Load->HDF SD options.
  • [Interactive Mode][Command Mode]

    Interactive Mode:

Description:  The Image Data option of the Output Setup Widget provides the capability of outputting the raw or geophysical band data values associated with the main windows, viewable portion of the main window, roam window or zoom windows to either a binary flat file, an HDF file as an SD, or a SeaDAS Mapped file.  A region within any of these windows can also be specified.  This widget is activated by selecting the Functions->Output->Binary option in the Display Window Widget and then selecting Type->Image Data.

    Output Source Section:
    Type Image Data
Frame Buffer The display window number to output.  The Output Setup Widget does not need to be opened for every display window.
Raw or GeoPhys Specify whether to output the raw data values or the geophysical data values.

Options for All Output File Types Section:

    Input Items :
Output File Name It is not necessary to input an output file name.  If left blank, an intelligent default will be created.  For the binary flat file output, the default output filename will contain the data type, i.e. 'test_248x1104_2i.flat' for short integer, 'test_248x1104_4f.flat' for single-precision floating point.
Output File Mode Action to take if output HDF file already exists.  (for HDF output file type only)

New Remove the existing HDF file before creating a new file. (Default)
Append Append output SDs to the existing HDF file.
Window The window to output for the selected frame buffer.  The options are:

Main (entire) The main full resolution display window.
Main (viewable) The viewable portion of the full resolution display window.
    Roam The roam window.
    Zoom The zoom window.

Region The region for output within the window specified.

Start col The starting column in the window specified (relative to 1).
End col The ending column in the window specified (relative to 1).
Start row The starting row in the window specified (relative to 1).
End row The ending row in the window specified (relative to 1).
File Type The graphics data output file type.  The options are:

Binary Flat File The data type depends on the data type of the raw or geophysical data values specified.
HDF SD See the additional HDF SD option descriptions below.
SeaDAS Mapped See the additional HDF SD option descriptions below.
Output Format The output format for the image data.  The options are BYTE, INTEGER, LONG, FLOAT, or DOUBLE.
    Go Output the selected window.
Help Show this HTML file in local HTML viewer.
Quit Destroy the Output Setup Widget.

    Options for HDF SD Section:
SDS Name The name of the Scientific Dataset.  The name can contain blanks. (Default is "<product name> ".)
