Seadisp Histogram Widget

Description:  The Histogram Widget provides the capability of performing a histogram on either the raw band data or the converted geo-physical data associated with a display window. (The histogram is NOT performed on the image data).  The number of bins and bin size can be modified.  The histogram plot can be directed to window or postscript output.  In addition, the histogram bin counts can be directed to the screen or to an ASCII text file.  The histogram function can be activated by selecting Functions->Histogram in the Display Window Widget.

Note:Currently the Histogram Widget does not contain an explicit LOG scale function.  However, if there is a log relationship between the raw band data and the geo-physical data, then a log or linear histogram can be achieved by toggling the Geo/Raw button and replotting.

Action items:
Data Min, Data Max The data min/max over which to perform the histogram (in terms of either raw band data values or geophysical values depending on the Geo/Raw toggle).  The default values are the scaling values used to in displaying the corresponding image.
Geo/Raw A toggle button that specifies whether to use raw or geophysical values as input to the histogram function.  The currently displayed data min/max values and bin size values will automatically convert when this button is toggled.  The default is the specification used in displaying the corresponding image.
# of bins The number of histogram bins desired.  If data min/max or bin size are modified, the # of bins will automatically recalculate based on the current bin size. (Default is 50.)
Bin size The size of a histogram bin in terms of the raw band data values or geophysical values depending on the Geo/Raw toggle.  If bin size is modified, the # of bins field will automatically recalculate.
Title #1 The main title to print on the histogram plot.  (Default is the data product parameter name.)
Title #2 The sub-title to print on the histogram plot.  (Default is 'File= <filename>')
Area Area over which to perform the histogram.

Full Image Perform the histogram on the entire data band.  (Default)
Non-Blotch  Perform the histogram only on the data areas which are not overlaid by the graphics color specified in Blotch Color.
Blotch Perform the histogram on the data areas overlaid by the graphics color specified in Blotch Color. (This means all graphics of this color, not just blotch objects.  A blotch or filled polygon can be created using the Annotate/Blotch function).
Blotch Color The graphics color of interest.
Y-axis Min, Max The y-axis range (number of points). This is especially useful in matching histogram plots for direct comparison. (The default is [0,0] which denotes to take the default of [0, max histogram value plus IDL extended plot amount]).
Reset Reset the y-axis range default values to [0,0] which denotes to use the default y-axis range which is [0,max histogram value plus IDL extended plot amount]).
Plot Plot or replot the histogram using the inputs in the histogram widget.  The plot window contains an output button for outputting plot in Postscript or PNG formats.
Output Data Print ASCII histogram data to the SeaDAS Text Window. This text window contains a Save button to save the printed values to an ASCII disk file.
Help Display this help file in the user's HTML browser.
Quit Destroy the Histogram Widget and associated plot window.
