Hi,

We are interested in processing Terra data in near-real time.  I've downloaded and installed the direct broadbcast package and it all seems to work without any problems.
I noticed though that when processing both Aqua and Terra data external ephemeris and attitude data are required.
However, I was under the impression that the Terra satellite embedded the navigational data into the actual pass (PDS file) as previously there was no need for the external ephemeris and attitude data.
(in contrast to the MODIS-Aqua which has always needed these additional files).

Is there a switch for getting the modis_L0_to_L1A_GEO.csh and modis_L1A_to_GEO.csh to use the navigation within the PDS file or is this a future development ?
(or am I incorrect in thinking that the navigational data exists within the MODIS-Terra pass file).

Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
Jamie

Jamie,

Use the -disable-definitive option to disable the use of the definitive attitude and ephemeris data, and it will then use the embedded data.

Excellent.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Jamie.. FYI if you don't use the "-disable-definitive" option, MODISL1DB will first look for the definitive navigation on our ftp server, and if it's not yet available, it will still fall back on the embedded navigation. So either way, the processing will proceed.
