Problem with the SEADAS 4.5 embedded solaris2.8 version with
display gif export file !
Hangs with
seadas 4.5 embedded SOLARIS2.8
perhaps due to lack of IDLshare_gif.so library in the seadas/bin directory

The same error occurs when exporting tiff or postcripts

That means that there is NO POSSIBILITY of DISPLAY OUTPUT possible

Everything works fine except the output problem (the installation was successful)

Can somebody help ?

All GIF/TIFF functionality was removed from SeaDAS about a year and a half ago.
PNG format is the replacement.  I will look into the problem with Postscript file
generation, there does seem to be a problem with that.

As it turns out, there was no problem with the Postscript creation in
SeaDAS.  The problem was with my Kghostview display program.
I am still a bit confused by your original message, which made it sound
like you were trying to create a GIF file from perhaps the GUI, which
should be impossible.  Were you trying to do this from a script?  If so,
it obviously will not work since, like I said, we removed all GIF/TIFF
functionality a long time ago.

We found the problem. There was an update to do from the web site (which we did not think was necessary as we had already downladed and installed the Seadas 4.5 version ! ). In fact, when we did this update, we got the full new version. Thanks.
