Hi,
I'm new to Seadas. I have instaled Seadas VA and it is running well, but it is not displaying any of the HDF files é downloaded from OC site.
I press display, choose the HDF file, ok and it does nothing, no black window, no error message, just nothing at all. I tried with diferent HDF files and get always the same.
I downloaded and instaled all the auxiliary files that were recomended for processing images.
Thanks for the help!
Ricardo,
This may seem a silly question, but...are you uncompressing the files prior to attempting to display them?
The files we distribute are compressed with bzip2 compression. The VA comes with the utility to uncompress
the files (simply run bunzip2 <filename> from the terminal).
If you attempt to load a compressed file, SeaDAS sees it as a flat binary and brings up the flat binary load
GUI, but they are not flat binaries, so when click the load button, it fails to read the file and simply does nothing.
Sean
Sean,
It's not a silly question, i told i was new to the software and thats a newbie error. But yes, I decompressed the files.
Thanks anyway!
Ricardo
When you load a file for display, after hitting OK on the file selector GUI, you should be presented with a product-specific load GUI allowing you to select the bands of interest. Does this not happen for you?
Sean
No, when I hit OK i get back to the Desktop and nothing happens.
Ricardo
Very odd...I cannot replicate this behavior. Does the program crash or just closes the file chooser GUI? What is the Host OS and how much RAM does it have? Which version of SeaDAS did you install?
Sean
It just closes the file chooser GUI. The Host OS is Windows 7 64bits 4Gb. The version of SeaDAS is 6.3 and has 1Gb Ram.
Ricardo
Ricardo,
Well, that's pretty much the system I tested the VA on. Try using the
latest version.
Sean
I tried with the latest version (SeaDAS 6.4) yesterday and it was still not working. Today I tried again and it worked. Dont know why but it's working now.
Thank you so much for the help Sean!
