Hi Jorge,Striping in the Terra MODIS data
is a well known issue and
can be traced to a number of causes. The main type of
striping that you see in the left and right panels of your
first example is caused by imperfect calibration of differences
between the two MODIS mirror sides. Each mirror side
accounts for ten pixels along track in the one-kilometer
data (20 pixels in the 500-meter data and 40 pixels in
the 250 meter data).
The perceived striping in your middle panel results from
the MODIS bowtie effect
and results from a duplication
of pixels along track.
You may also encounter striping caused by imperfect calibration
of differences between the different detectors in each scan line.
