good day,

if possible i want to get more information about reference/source/generation of NCEP.MET files (http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/ftp.html).
for example,
if i understand, the NCEP.MET files are some products of any atmospheric model (what is the name of this model? reference on it/temporal and spatial resolution of product, for instance,  a wind).

sorry,
slava

Sorry for the delay.. from our ancillary expert:

The GRIB 2 format meteorological datasets supply ancillary data for the ocean color processing and is the product of the Global Dataset Assimilation System (GDAS) at the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). We pick the required fields from it: wind (at 10 m agl, u, v components), sea level pressure, precipitable water and relative humidity.
