How do I access L3 binned data directly?

SeaDAS does not currently have a function to extract binned data values and lat/lons though we hope to add this feature soon. In the meantime a simple bin file dumper (swreadl3b) is available:

(If you already have SeaDAS, the HDF4 distribution required to build swreadl3b is in the $SEADAS/hdf/HDF4/ directory.)

There is also IDL code (BIN2LL) that computes the latitude/longitude values for an array of bin numbers:
