good afternoon,
we are very happy to announce that the complete mission reprocessing
of the modis/aqua data set that we started on friday afternoon,
may 14th has been completed and all products are available for
download via the oceancolor web.  for those of you who keep track of
these things, the effective rate for this reprocessing was 90 days of
data processed per day.  this rate is in addition to maintaining the
current operational processing of the recent modis and seawifs data.
analysis of the results will continue and further documentation will
be added to the validation section of the oceancolor web as it is completed.

in response to a number of requests that we have gotten, we have just
added a new product for aqua/modis data - a quicklook global daily 4
and 9 kilometer level-3 image and hdf files for the current standard
product set (chlorophyll, sea surface temperature, diffuse attenuation,
nLw at 551 nm, aerosol optical thickness and angstrom coefficient).
these files are produced each morning (generally ready by 6:00am
eastern time) and will include all the data received on the previous day
from the real-time feed that we have.  consequently, there may be some
small number of files that are missing from the quicklook product but
they should be filled by the time we produce the refined daily product
7-10 days after acquisition.  all the files are available for download
from the level-3 browser:
