                                       SeaDAS 6.4 - Release Notes (6/2012)

SeaDAS 6.4 includes a major update to the L1B processing for MODIS Aqua and  Terra.  The calibration
LUT format was modified by the MODIS Calibration Support Team, and the corresponding code was
modified accordingly.  For more information regarding the MODIS reprocessing 2012.0 effort, see:

Important Note
The LUT format is incompatible with previous versions of the code!  On June 18th, 2012, the LUTs
distributed by the OBPG will be switched to the new format.  Any automated update processes in place
for previous versions of SeaDAS should be disabled prior to that date.  You should wait to implement an
automated update process for version 6.4 until after Jun 18th,  no updates to the LUTs distributed with the
code will occur until Jun 18th.

In addition to the changes to support the MODIS reprocessing, several bugs in the SeaDAS python scripts
and user interface have been corrected.              
                                                                               
Supported platforms for this release are:

- Linux x86_64                                                                 
- Intel Macintosh OS X 10.6/10.7                                               
                                                                               
(Macintosh OSX 10.5 and earlier platforms are no longer supported, however the source code should still
compile and run on these systems)

    - l1mapgen and l2mapgen can output GeoTIFF files directly                  
    - alternative build setup using cmake                                      
                                                                               
Minor bug fixes:                                                               
                                                                               
    - modifications to the python scripts to be more robust when dealing with spotty network connectivity                                              
    - fixed a status check in anc_utils.py that expected string but given an integer                                                                  
    - fixed the configuration setup as it incorrectly identifies certain Mac systems as a linux_64                                                            
    - fixed path to python in the SeaDAS VA                 
    - fixed path issues in idl_lib code                                        
    - fixed an issue with the l2gen GUI selection of the NIR/SWIR switching algorithm for MODIS                                                      
    - fixed an issue with map projections on 64bit machines                    
    - include OCM1 and OCM2 data files in the distribution
