SeaWiFS Status Announcements: updated 24 December 2004
The contract between NASA and ORBIMAGE expired on Decemeber 24, 2004 and
NASA is no longer received any SeaWiFS data after that date. More details regarding this can be found HERE

A new contract between NASA and ORBIMAGE has been signed on Tuesday,
23 December 2003 for one additional year of SeaWiFS data under the same
terms and conditions of the previous contract. We anticipate the
resumption of global data (GAC) acquisition on Wednesday, 24 Debember 2003.
- REPROCESSING: Get information on current and past SeaWiFS data Reprocessings.
- SeaWiFS Archive Product Specifications
- You can now request to become an Authorized SeaWiFS Data User
by using the new Online Research Data Use Terms and Conditions Agreement.
Fill out all the required information, verify the submission and submit
it via the Web for review and approval.
- It is no longer necessary to purchase IDL in order to run
SeaDAS!!! The latest release, which includes IDL 5.4 runtime capability, is now available via anonymous ftp at
ftp://samoa.gsfc.nasa.gov/seadas/seadas or from the
SeaDAS website.
- Read the Sea Technology article entitled Science Quality SeaWiFS Data for Global Biosphere Research.

The SeaWiFS Project maintains a mailing list which it uses to keep the
ocean color community informed about major events related to the SeaWIFS
Project (meetings, reprocessings, spacecraft/sensor updates). If you
would like to be added to this mailing list or are on the list and
want to be taken off or have changed your address, please follow the
