SEAWIFS Authorized Users Information
Please be advised that SeaWiFS on-board LAC scheduling and
real-time image support are available
only to authorized SeaWiFS investigators (this does not apply to MODIS data):
- You must be an authorized user of SeaWiFS data.
See the Announcements section of the SeaWiFS Home Page for details.
- The services prodived by the Ocean Color project
will be granted only to projects which contribute
to the project's calibration/validation
effort. The criteria for providing real-time
image support are that you are collecting
and will provide to the Ocean Color Project optical and/or pigment data (per
the Ocean Optics measurement protocols) within six months
of your cruise.
- If you want real-time image support, you
must be authorized to receive it. Authorization
will be determined when requests for image
support are made. If the request is denied,
we will inform you as to why. Please
contact the Ocean Color Support Team with your questions regarding image
support.
- Real-time digital data support is given only under exceptional circumstances . Due to the special nature of this type
of request, we cannot offer this as a routine
service. For routine digital data service
(NOT real-time) please use the ocean color browser. Requests for real-time digital data
support will only be granted when it has
been demonstrated to be critical to the goal
of the cruise and that image support is not
sufficient. Prior authorization to receive
real-time digital data must be obtained from
the SeaWiFS project manager, Dr. Gene Feldman
. To request authorization, fill out
the Temporary Real-Time Authorization Application
Form
- Due to contractual obligations to Orbital
Sciences Corporation, if you designate someone
else to receive your images, or digital data,
he or she must also be an authorized user
of SeaWiFS data.
