The animated GIF below is composed of 226 32-day MODIS chlorophyll composites. Each 32-day composite in the sequence has a starting (and ending) date that is eight days later than the previous frame. The time period covered is from the beginning of the Aqua mission through June 2007.
Note that this is a large animation file (42,031,879 bytes). You should be prepared to wait a while for the file to download and for the animation to begin. If your computer does not have sufficient memory to load the image, then the animation may not work at all for you. A smaller version of the animation is also available.
